Coverage of Canada-CARICOM Summit

Media Advisory

The first Canada-CARICOM Summit on Canadian soil takes place from 17 to 19 October 2023, in Ottawa, Ontario. 

The Summit will be co-chaired by the Prime Minister of Canada Mr. Justin Trudeau and the Prime Minister of Dominica, Mr. Roosevelt Skerrit, the current Chair of CARICOM.

CARICOM Heads and their Canadian counterpart are tackling a packed agenda that includes climate change and resilience, access to finance and global financial architecture reform, Haiti, regional security, as well as trade and investment.

Media representatives who are not attending the Summit in-person in Ottawa are asked to note that the following parts of the Summit will be livestreamed.

1. The Opening Session:  Wednesday 18 October 2023, 10:15 a.m.
2. Opening Remarks:

• Start of Session Two – Wednesday 18 October 2023, 1:00 p.m.
• Start of Session Three – Wednesday 18 October 2023, 3:30 p.m.
• Trade and Investment Forum – Thursday 19 October 2023, 10:30 a.m.

3. Media Availability/Briefing: Thursday 19 October 2023, 1:30 p.m.
