Saharan dust creeping into Caribbean

(Loop News) As if the heat being experienced in the Caribbean isn’t enough to deal with, the Saharan dust continues to be a burden for those who suffer from allergies and other ailments.  

The Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Service on May 8 said air quality is down to moderate levels. This is due to particulate matters 2.5 and 10, associated with a fresh surge in the Saharan Dust. An air quality alert II has been issued up to Thursday. It noted the threat of health problems is elevated, for mainly unusually sensitive people, such as asthmatics, and could potentially cause them limited health impacts.
