PM Mottley calls for deeper functional, day-to-day cooperation to tackle crime

Prime Minister of Barbados Mia Mottley wants deeper “functional, day-to-day cooperation” among the Region’s security forces as one of the crime-fighting measures the Caribbean Community could adopt.

She made the recommendation at the Regional Symposium on Violence as a Public Health Issue – the Crime Challenge, which was held in Trinidad and Tobago 17-18 April 2023.

Prime Minister Mottley also called for rotation of the regional judiciary, and closer connection among members of the security forces for improved cross-border cooperation.

Listen to her intervention during the round-table discussion that Heads of Government participated in on the first day of the symposium.
