CCCCC Calls For Youth Advocacy With The Launch Of The Regional #BetterClimate4MyHealth Campaign

(Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre Press Release) The Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC) launched a youth-focused campaign entitled “I deserve a #BetterClimate4MyHealth” on January 26, 2023, at the George Price Center in Belmopan, Belize.  

The #Betterclimate4MyHealth campaign is an urgent call to action to young people ages 9-30, across the 16 CARIFORUM countries to advocate for immediate action to address the health-related issues caused by the global climate crisis. Using evidence and stories of real young people, the ‘I deserve a #BetterClimate4MyHealth’ campaign will ensure that Caribbean youth are viewed, supported, and recognised as critical agents of social inclusion and are at the heart of resilience efforts. 

Every month, from January to June 2023, the CCCCC will roll out a mix of campaign activities which includes taking a selfie for climate and health, a youth forum, a walk for climate and health or a clean-up initiative, writing a letter to my leader and competitions comprising art, photo, poetry and my climate and health story.   

The Campaign is being executed in collaboration with the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) under the European Union (EU) funded 2020-2025 EU/CARIFORUM Climate Change and Health Project. The project targets the strengthening of national/sub-regional health systems to better manage the impacts of climate change on the health of the Caribbean people and on health services and delivery systems.
