Training opportunity in treaty and legislative drafting open to CARIFORUM residents

CARIFORUM legal drafters, legal officers and senior trade officials of CARIFORUM States and Members of Parliament of CARIFORUM States are eligible to participate in the CARIFORUM Legal Drafting e-Learning Programme. The Programme aims to improve skills in treaty and legislative drafting through specialised training and is free of cost. It will take place from 20 February to 20 May 2023. 

The online format for the CARIFORUM Legal Drafting e-Learning Programme will allow independent study and self-assessment in an accessible and flexible way. Interested persons must apply via the link below before 22 December 2022:

Legal Drafting E-learning Programme Open Call

A limited number of applicants will be selected.

Interested applicants are asked to note that the Programme is open to residents of the following CARIFORUM Member States: Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, The Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Saint Lucia, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname and the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.

The Legal Drafting e-Learning Programme is part of the CARIFORUM Capacity Building in Legal Drafting Project financed by the European Union under the 11th EDF and executed by ARCA Consortium on behalf of CARIFORUM. This Project seeks to, inter alia, build capacity in CARIFORUM States in treaty and legislative drafting through training of selected participants. The objective is to update relevant legislation of CARIFORUM Member States and develop new legislation as necessary for more effective implementation and operation of the CARIFORUM-EU Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA).
