CARICOM SG to launch youth agriculture social media campaign

CARICOM Secretary-General, Dr. Carla Barnett, will launch the ‘I AM Agriculture: Youth in Agriculture’ social media campaign 28 October 2022.

The campaign, which comprises video productions depicting the success young people in the Region have achieved in agriculture and agri-preneurship, is in recognition of the important role youth must play in the achievement of food security in the Region.

The CARICOM Secretariat is partnering with the United Nations World Food Programme, on the campaign.

The virtual launch begins at 2pm. Young farmers will make presentations during the hour-long event which will also feature remarks by Mr. Regis Chapman, Representative and Country Director of the United Nations World Food Programme; Amb. David  Prendergast, Director, Sectoral Programmes, Directorate of Economic Integration Innovation and Development (EIID); and Mr. Alick Lazare, Co-Founder of CERES Agriculture Application, Dominica.
