Region must press reset button on critical agriculture matters – CARICOM Chair

Agriculture, in the Region, is at a crossroads and while there is recognition of the various challenges, focus must be placed on the opportunities, Chair of CARICOM, His Excellency Chandrikapersad Santokhi, said Friday, 19 August 2022.

The President of Suriname was at the time making remarks at the opening of the Agri Investment Forum and Expo II at the National Academy of Performing Arts in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.

He told the large gathering that included other CARICOM Heads of Government, the CARICOM Secretary-General and captains of industry, that there was need for a, urgent and complete transformation and re-alignment of the Region’s food system.

This requires us to “press the rest button”, he said.
