Under the patronage of the President of Suriname, His Excellency Chandrikapersaud Santokhi, lead head in the CARICOM Quasi Cabinet with responsibility for Culture, Youth, Gender and Sport, the Forum will provide a platform for partners in youth development to examine their challenges, needs, aspirations and opportunities available to them.

The discussion will include an update on the implementation status of the CARICOM Youth Development Action Plan (CYDAP) and the formulation of salient recommendations for its alignment with the needs of young people.

Information gleaned from the Forum will be presented by the Dean, CARICOM Youth Ambassador (CYA), Ms Rene Atwell, as a Policy Brief to the Forty-Third Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of CARICOM, scheduled from 3-5 July in Suriname.
