Belize hosts Costa Rica’s Foreign Minister

Belize Press Office – H.E. Rodolfo Solano Quirós, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship of the Republic of Costa Rica, today arrived in Belize with his delegation for an official two-day visit.  

Foreign Minister Solano Quirós began his visit with a courtesy call on Prime Minister Hon. John Briceño. The foreign minister will also meet with Hon.  Eamon Courtenay, Belize’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Immigration, and the ministers of Health and Wellness, and Blue Economy and Civil Aviation. Discussions are expected to be centered on important bilateral and cooperation matters including Belize’s CARICOM chairmanship, SICA and Central American affairs, tourism, environment and climate change, food and animal health safety, vocational technical training, among others. 

Foreign Minister Solano Quirós is also expected to meet Dr. Vincent Palacio, Interim President of the University of Belize and Dr. Colin Young, Executive Director of the Caribbean Community Climate Change Center. 

Belize and the Republic of Costa Rica celebrated 40 years of cordial and mutual diplomatic relations in 2021.
