Cyber Security to feature at upcoming Maritime Link-up Webinar – Registration invited

The American Caribbean Maritime Foundation (ACMF) is pleased to announce its second annual Maritime Link-up Webinar on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 under the distinguished patronage of Minister Stuart Young, Trinidad and Tobago’s Minister of Energy and Energy Industries.

This year’s featured speaker is Alyse Lisk, SVP, Cyber Security and Operational Excellence at TOTE. Ms. Tote will be speaking about the emerging frontier of cyber security and the cutting-edge technology at the heart of protecting the shipping industry.

“In the wake of the recent cyber attacks on major U.S. infrastructure, a talk about port cyber security cannot be more timely”, says Dr. Brown Metzger, President of the American Caribbean.

“We can’t thank Ms. Lisk enough for helping our students in the region understand this critical field and the career opportunities it offers”, Brown Metzger continues.

ACMF is partnering with the Caribbean Association of National Training Authorities (CANTA) the University of Trinidad and Tobago, and WiMAC on this year’s program which is geared for students, but open to everyone.

“This is a very special opportunity for me to reach future mariners in the Caribbean and hear from them about their hopes and dreams for working in the maritime sector”, says Ms. Lisk. Juan Carlos Croston, President of the Caribbean Shipping Association, will be highlighting career opportunities in the sector. A full-tuition scholarship will be awarded to a student attendee at the webinar who plans to study and work in the maritime industry.
