Freak storm hits Barbados

A freak storm, with extremely high winds in some areas, hit Barbados Wednesday night, leaving damage to homes and public infrastructure.

Prime Minister of Barbados, the Hon., Mia Mottley said Thursday morning, that there were fallen trees that had blocked main highways and subsidiary roads on the island.

“This has been a difficult year for this country,” Prime Minister Mottley said, but she acknowledged that even though Barbados continued to be tested, “we know how to soar” and what it meant to be resilient.
