Renewed, effective multilateralism imperative – PM Gonsalves

As the world moves to rebound from the COVID-19 pandemic and other challenges, renewed and effective multilateralism remains an urgent and moral political imperative.

Dr. the Hon. Ralph Gonsalves, Prime Minister of St. Vincent and the Grenadines made this charge as he addressed the United Nations Security Council on 7 May 2021. The Forum focused on the maintenance of international peace and security, upholding multilateralism and the United Nations-centred international system.

Prime Minister Gonsalves called for movement in a “fresh direction” with innovative steps to ease human suffering; and for all states to work together constructively to realise peace, security and development for all humanity.
