Jamaicans to vote 3 September 2020

Jamaicans will go to the polls on Thursday 3 September 2020.

Prime Minister and Leader of the ruling Jamaica Labour Party Mr. Andrew Holness

Prime Minister Mr Andrew Holness announced the much anticipated election date during a special sitting of the House of Assembly on Tuesday, in which he also announced 18 August as Nominations Day.

Leader of the opposition Peoples National Party (PNP) Mr Peter Phillips.

Prime Minister Holness led his Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) to a narrow 32-31 victory over the Peoples National Party (PNP) in the last elections held in February 2016. The PNP which was led at the time by Ms Portia Simpson-Miller will go into the upcoming elections under the leadership of Mr Peter Phillips.
