April 10 update

The three measures previously taken in the context of prevention and prevention of the further spread of the COVID-19 virus are extended by two weeks.

Despite the closing of the borders outside the checkpoints, individuals still manage to cross the road. The reality, according to President Desiré Bouterse, is that this gives us an acute view of potentially thousands of infected cases. If these measures are not observed, a state of emergency will be declared in these border areas.

The measures:

The partial lockdown, whereby people are not allowed to walk on the street from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning, with the exception of people from the care, safety and essential destination traffic for work.

Limited gathering to a maximum of 10 people and a social distance of 2 meters.

All games of chance and casinos remain closed until further notice.
