Election Day in Guyana

The people of Guyana vote in General Elections today Monday 2 March 2020.

Elections Officials say more than 660, 000 People are eligible to vote and Polling Places were scheduled to open at 6:00, Monday morning.

Eleven political parties met the criteria to contest the general and regional elections, including the ruling ‘A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) and Alliance For Change (AFC)’ coalition, and the parliamentary opposition ‘Peoples Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/Civic)’.

A 17-Member CARICOM Election Observation Mission is observing today’s Elections Day activities and will issue a Preliminary Statement at the end of the process.
