CARICOM Secretariat and CDB seeking to strengthen co-operation

CARICOM Secretary-General Ambassador Irwin LaRocque and President of the Caribbean Development Bank Dr Warren Smith on Wednesday signed an MOU aimed at strengthening existing co-operation between the CARICOM Secretariat and the CDB.

The CARICOM Secretariat is the principal administrative organ of the Caribbean Community and has its Headquarters in Georgetown, Guyana, an Office in Barbados and a small satellite unit in Jamaica.

The Barbados-headquartered CDB is a regional financial institution with a mandate to contribute to the harmonious growth and development of Caribbean member countries and promote economic cooperation and integration among them.

Ambassador LaRocque said Wednesday’s signing of the MOU is just the latest example of the excellent relationship that has been a feature of the tenure of Dr. Smith.
