Hurricane Dorian – The Regional Response Mechanism #RRM at work!

CDEMA, with the financial support of the Government of the United Kingdom through the Department for International Development (DFID) and on behalf of the Caribbean Development Partners Group on Disaster Management, today deployed two (2) Rapid Needs Assessment Teams to Nassau, Bahamas.

Four members of the Department of Disaster Management and Emergencies will be pre-deployed to the Bahamas to provide Technical support as part of the Regional Response Mechanism.

Dr Virginia Clerveaux, Director of DDME, Mike Clerveaux, Hazard Mitigation & GIS Specialist, Kyana Bowen, Senior Programme and Policy Manager and Kevern De Bellott, Hazard Mitigation Officer will all form part of the Rapid Needs Assessment Team requested by the Government of Bahamas to support the operations of the Bahamas Disaster Office. The Officers selected for mobilization will provide support based on the skill sets requested and the forecasted impact of Hurricane Dorian.

Hon. Sharlene Cartwright-Robinson, Premier of the Turks and Caicos Islands wishes the team safe travels pre deployment.
