New Permanent CARIFESTA Logo Unveiled at Festival Closing

A new permanent logo to be used for subsequent CARIFESTAs was unveiled at the closing of CARIFESTA XIV. The ceremony was held at the Queens Park Savannah in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago on Sunday.

The logo was approved at a meeting of the Council for Human and Social Development (COHSOD) with the CARICOM Ministers of Culture in June 2019. The logo reflects the vibrancy, rhythm and creativity of the people of the Caribbean, represented by a reveler, a masquerader, a performer, celebrating the Region’s distinctive, magnificent Caribbean civilization.

“Emerging from a sea of aquamarine, signifying the gleaming Caribbean waters that unite us; the reveler, the masquerader, the performer claims our rightful place on the world stage and inspires the global imagination, as a region of iconic cultural expressions and artists, .

“The sun-head represents the brilliance of our Caribbean creatives, the energy and passion we feel about our rich and diverse cultures. This infinitely renewable creativity is the vitality that fuels CARIFESTA, a quintessentially Caribbean space where we come together to celebrate the beauty of one people and one region.

“The small circles echo the glistening island archipelago and the majesty of the mainland, that encircle our hearts and our voices as together we proclaim to the world: CARIFESTA – the Caribbean festival of arts!@

The next CARIFESTA will be held in Antigua and Barbuda in 2021.
