REVISED DRAFT COMMON CORE SERVICES QUESTIONNAIRE

The purpose of the forum is to facilitate discussions on the current state of services statistics in the Region. In essence, it is hoped that this forum would be one of several mechanisms that would seek to enhance capacity building in the development of this area of statistics.

Documentation and other information are posted here for your review and feedback.

In order to guide the discussions, here are some points to consider:

1. The details of the list of services in Column 1 – The category of Services as listed under the first column are mostly Commercial Services. Is this list adequate? Should this category be expanded to include other trade in services categories? If so what other details should be included that are of importance to the Region?

2. Comparison of similar existing questionnaires in the Region - Do you have available a trade in services questionnaire to capture such level of details that is used in your country and how does this compare to the draft prototype questionnaire being proposed for the Region? If so, can your country questionnaire be shared? You can upload same to the Discussion Forum.

3. Comprehensive notes to guide compilers and respondents – These are currently not included in the questionnaire. Your thoughts/feedback for suggestions to incorporate same would be appreciated.

4. Layout/format of the Questionnaire - Comments/feedback to improve the layout of the questionnaire are also welcomed.

5. Any other comments/feedback

Dear Colleagues,

In response to the first point which was posted above, I think for those countries that do not have a services questionnaire employed in their country can make use of the proposed questionnaire and add the required additional details to collect services statistics according to the BPM6 categories but how would this affect the current layout ? I do like the layout proposed which is very simple and straightforward !
