Women and Men in the Caribbean Community: Facts and Figures, 1998-2005
Chapter 1: Population, Households and Families

This Regional Publication is one of the main outputs of the CARICOM Social/Gender and Environmental Statistics Programme which is a follow up to the UNSD/CARICOM Project undertaken by the Statistics Sub-Programme in collaboration with United Nations Statistical Division during 1999-2002.

As agreed to by the CARICOM Regional Advisory Group that formulated the Social/Gender and Environment Statistics Programme the dissemination of this publication will be done by separate chapters in view of the intense work required to produce this report. Hence, the chapters on Work, Education and Health will be disseminated similarly followed by the dissemination of the entire report.

In addition to the tables and graphs presented this publication provides metadata for each indicator including Concept and Definition, Method of Computation, Indicator Relevance, Data Assessment, Gender Dimension, and Data Sources.
